Does this upload my CSV?
No. Conversion runs in your browser with JavaScript. The converter does not upload CSV content, JSON output, or file names. See Privacy for hosting request notes.
Will leading zeros be kept?
Yes. Values like 001 stay text strings in the JSON output. That is a core reason this tool exists.
What CSV format is supported?
Comma-separated UTF-8 with a header row. Quoted fields may contain commas, quotes, and line breaks. Uneven rows, duplicate headers, or malformed quotes stop conversion.
What are the size limits?
1 MiB of input and 10,000 data rows (not counting the header). Larger files need splitting or a different workflow.
Why did conversion stop?
Common causes: missing or duplicate column names, uneven column counts, or broken quoting. The status line explains the failure when possible.
Are empty cells null or omitted?
Neither. Empty cells become empty strings (""). Keys still appear for every header.
Can I convert JSON back to CSV here?
Not in this tool. This page only converts CSV → JSON array of objects.
Is PapaParse used?
Yes, PapaParse (MIT) ships as a local vendor file for CSV parsing. The license link is in the footer.
